We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2019 Thrombosis Canada education conference, Thrombosis Management: Challenges, Controversies and Consensus 2019. The meeting will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 and features Canadian and international thrombosis experts. This program will cover a wide range of thrombosis-related topics relevant to your practice.
Target Audience:
Physicians, nurses and pharmacists involved in the management of patients with challenging medical or surgical conditions requiring personalized anticoagulant management.
Learning Objectives
After completing this program, participants will be equipped to:
- Incorporate the latest evidence into the management of patients with thrombotic disease
- Effectively manage thrombosis challenges in clinical practice
- Consider thrombosis treatment options for a variety of patient profiles.

This event is an accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. You may claim a maximum of 5.5 hours.
This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 5.50 Mainpro+ credits.

In addition to the above program, with the support of BMS-Pfizer, we are pleased to present an accredited breakfast symposium entitled Paradigm Shift: Direct Oral Anticoagulants for the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer-Associated Thrombosis
Symposium objectives
After attending this program, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the rationale for primary thromboprophylaxis in ambulatory cancer patients;
- Apply data from recent clinical trials in clinical decision-making about primary thromboprophylaxis;
- Discuss direct oral anticoagulants in the treatment of cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) recognizing cancer subgroups and bleeding risk.
